Hello All!
Coupons are that one thing that everyone wants to do, but nobody wants to do the work. There lies in lots of fraudulent couponers, or people that sell coupons- well I'm not about that. I'll tell you now, couponing is time consuming, but its incredibly rewarding when you see all the money you save. I have only been couponing for about a year, maybe a little more. I stopped for a while, went back and forth, and even was part of an awesome Facebook group from the area I lived. If you want to know some good "hidden deals" find one of these groups to join. I love knowing where and when the sales are, knowing how much I'm willing to spend and what I'll save, all before going to the store. The first stop: get coupons. I'm putting this into my "welcome" post, only because you can't go much further until after that. So, next question is: Where do I get my coupons? Of course you can get them from your local newspaper! However, I wouldn't suggest getting the subscription. I go to the gas station every Sunday morning before work and buy 4 newspapers. If I forget (my days get mixed up frequently working hospitality) or miss out, my next stop is... the internet of course! www.wholecouponinserts.com is a great site where you can buy multiples of inserts without having to buy the paper. However, after shipping, its cheaper just to go to the gas station! Many couponing experts tell beginners to start out with 2 papers, but after doing it for a while, I think 4 is a better minimum. Many of the sales at places like CVS or Walgreens you can only use 4 like coupons per transaction (we will get into that in further posts), but need all four to get the best deal! So. Four Sunday papers. Gas Station. GO!
I'll get into more depth of couponing very soon!
Enjoy,
Kirsten
